"CAKES by LILY"

Sharing The Sweetness of Life

ABOUT LILY

I am a blessed woman of God, married to a wonderful man, have three beautiful daughters and am a proud grandmother to three  adorable grandsons. My family means the world to me. I give all the glory to God for my life. All three girls are well established and have a life of their own with their dedicated husbands and that leaves me free to do what I've always dreamt of doing.........Teaching, Baking, Cake-decorating, and travelling to Cake Shows, to participate with an entry or just to watch and learn from the amazingly talented women and men. I'm proud to say that I won the "Peoples Choice Award" at the Washington State Sugar Artists Show held in Factoria, Washington in 2006. Then in 2008, in Worley, Idaho at a WSSA Cake Show I won 3 Purple Ribbons for "My miniature Garden". I made another piece, that was a smaller version of my winning entry for the ICES Cake Show down in Orlando, Florida. In 2010, at the WASSA Annual Cake Show, held in Everett, I had the honour of demonstrating the different ways to use "Sugar Veil".

I  had an opportunity to take classes from Nicholas Lodge, the world renowned Cake Artist, who is originally from England. I've also taken classes from other NW Sugar Artists, Kate Fielder, Mari Senaga, Chef Laurel Silverberg, Janette Pfertner and "The Chocolate Man" Bill Fredericks & in 2010 I was able to take a hands-on class offered by Kathleen Lange of Confectionary chalet, from Alpine, CA. for Lambeth method, and attended demos by Sugar Artists  Linda Reese, Carolyn Noble, Pam Weston, Lucinda Larson, Kelly Lance and Bronwen Weber. I am the Vice-president of Washington State Sugar Artists, President of Eastside Sugar Creators, and have been a member of ICES (Internationall Cake Exploration Societe) since 2003.

As a child, I've always dreamt of one day, dabbling in some aspect of food.......... Well, I've found it, "BAKING and CAKE DECORATING". I've always admired lots of Cake-Decorators from all over the world for years, and I have reached a certain level to be able to decorate cakes and make gum-paste flowers of all kinds and figurines.
